CARPETS OF CALYPSOS: TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING?

Curled over a calypso orchid is Dr. Thomas Gibson, an American bio-geographer who has come to Jasper National Park to study the flower. His passion to research and conserve calypsos has propelled him across the continent, from Arizona to the Canadian Rockies. His trip to Jasper has not disappointed – the valley is full of orchid sightings. Later he tells me a patch of calypsos he located near Pyramid Lake is the “nicest, purest colony [he has] ever seen.”  Full Article Here.
